War Horse

#LongHaul

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Screenplay by Lee Hall and Richard Curtis. Walt Disney Studios, 2011.

Ok, just hear me out, zooted War Horse was a trippy experience.

The beginning score is quite the scenic ballad.

We begin with a horse boy, living the country dream.

“He’s something else, that one!” -a man seeing a very fine horse

I like that the horse auction doubled as a roast: “Bugger off yah tight bastard!”

“Save it for the Shire, Ted!!”

“You’re a better man than your father…”, “C’mon Mr. Lyons, that’s a bit rough.” In other words, woah chill Mr. Lyons you don’t have to go that deep with it lmao

Just once I want someone to say “Look at you” the way Andrew Easton says to Albert.

Oh would you look at that, Benedict Cumberbatch plays a past century English officer

I love that Tom Hiddleston’s character wants to draw horse fan love mail to the boy he took the horse from.

Kind of upset they made the German soldiers speak English, cause I wanted to hear German horse commands.

Spielberg: “I want to make a PG-13 touching movie about a horse that goes to war.”

Also Spielberg: “I will not pull any punches with my dramatic realization of WW1 warfare for this PG-13 film.”
