Movies that are long (2 hrs and over) and thus may require more devil’s lettuce to finish or separate viewings (can always split it up). If you don’t want a marathon, pick something shorter, without this hash.
#SSAN
Stands for sex scenes and/or nudity, in case you were trying to avoid any awkward moments when throwing this on for a certain audience.
#STE
Stands for Some Toxic Elements. Movies contain dated (and current) projections of our society, especially if the release date is further back in time. Although cinema has moved forward from these sometimes harmful representations of gender roles and cultural backgrounds, somewhat toxic material will be ever present in films (sometimes purposefully). Movies with this hash I believe can still be enjoyed but should be taken with a grain of salt with regards to its representation of people (as good viewers should always do). If you’re looking for something more wholesome at the time, maybe avoid movies with this hash.
Note: This is an imperfect tool, movies without it aren’t necessarily perfect either, opinions vary 😉
#BloodAndGuts
As you can imagine, a movie with this hash contains multiple scenes with blood and/or guts.
#Heavy
Movies with this hash may contain intense existential melancholy or prominent sad feels.
#Uncomfy
Everyone has their own tastes, but when I give a movie this hash its because something tells me it will make quite a few particularly uncomfortable for extended portions of the film. Includes Horror.
#BigScreen
Basically, I saw films with this hash in theaters and thought it really added to the experience. Do it if there’s an opportunity in a category you like.
